Obituary

Kathleen (Kate) Luke Boswell, aged 66, passed away at home surrounded by her family after a short but valiant struggle with Pancreatic cancer.

Kate was born March 13, 1953 in Heber City, Utah, the third daughter of Charles Leo and Stella Hair Luke.
She attended schools in Midway and Heber City. After graduating from Wasatch High School, she attended college at Dixie. She went on to UTC.

Kate married the love of her life, Jack Boswell, August 17, 1979 in the Provo Utah LDS Temple. They made their home in Mapleton.

Kate worked for 4th District Juvenile Court, retired after 30 years.

Kate was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, served an LDS Mission to the France/Belgium mission. She played piano for Primary for many years.

She played piano, guitar and gave lessons on both instruments. She loved being different and especially loved the many hours spent with good friends she met in her Belly Dancing group. She designed and sewed many of their costumes.

Kathleen and I were friends through dance. She was a skilled, joyful, and beautiful interpretive dancer. We will miss her. from Nora (the band, Kairo by Night)

Katya was my favorite belly dancer, she always danced with such joy. Her talent and creativity was evident in every performance. I also want to thank her family for sharing her with us, I know she blessed everyone she knew. I am sending you prayers for peace and comfort.

Katya, it is sad that you are gone but it is encouraging to know that you are at peace and surrounding us all with your energy and love. That is what I remember most about you is your positive energy and love. You taught me so much throughout the 20 years I have known you. More than just the joyful and playful belly dance stage presence, but you also taught me to see things with different perspectives. To see the good and positive in bad situations.

We certainly had a lot of fun together with our belly dance troupe traveling around and dancing at different venues and events. I always laugh when I remember you driving us back from a belly dance show in Boise, Idaho and we missed the exit to Utah. We had to drive all the way to Pocatello to head south again. Not once, but twice that happened. You were right, it is funny now.
Katya! So dedicated and passionate about belly dancing, driving to Salt Lake twice a week (maybe more) to meet with us, "Whirlwinds of Brogla" (named by Katya) and "Topaz" (her belly dance troupe with Thia's dancers).

Thank you so much for all of the understanding, love and patience you shared with me. You are such a giving, beautiful woman and thank you for sharing your wonderful family with me, Kassie, Jackson, Jack, I am honored to have you as my friends and I am blessed to have shared those 15 years dancing with your mom, one of my best friends ever.
