Obituary

Mark Alan Warner

After battling diabetes and related complications for many years, Mark returned to his Heavenly Father February 22, 2020.

Mark was born January 23, 1961 in Sacramento, California to Don Lee Warner and Barbara Jean Linke. He graduated in 1980 from Del Oro High School in Loomis, California and served a two-year mission in Columbus, Ohio from 1980 to 1982. His service in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is something he always held very dear to him and he continued serving in various ways for the remainder of his life. He particularly loved serving in the Provo City Center Temple Baptistery.

He was incredibly proud of his faithful wife, Mary Kathleen Hemingway, whom he married in the Oakland Temple on June 17, 1983, and his wonderful children and grandchildren. He is survived by Kathy, his children, and grandchildren: Scott (Brooke) and their children Gavin, Paige, and another daughter in May; Rebecca (Alik Quigley); Laura (Hertz Claude); Eric (Nicole) and their children Indiana and Molly. He is also survived by his brothers Stan Warner (Beverly) and David Warner, and sister Giezel Banyas.

Mark was always one to do anything in his power to meet a need if he saw one. He never met a stranger and always found a way to share his testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with those around him. Mark always had a joke or pun for every situation. Nothing made him happier than crawling around on the floor playing with his grandchildren or allowing them to climb on his back. No physical impairment stood between him and time spent with them.

Services will be held at the Kolob 4th Ward chapel for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 2557 Dalton Drive in Springville, Utah on February 27, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Viewings will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 p m. to 8:00 p.m. and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow at the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.

Mark you had an amazing way of making me laugh back in high school. I cant remember a day that you were not in good spirits with a smile on your face and a new joke up your sleeve. I was always impressed with how effortlessly you made running hurdles in track look; however you were not the speediest guy on the track team, you looked amazing when running those hurdles. It saddens me to know your last months on this earthly plane were ones of pain and struggle. I hope and pray that as you meet our heavenly father he pulls you close, embraces you and praises you for your life's accomplishment being a good father, loving husband, and faithful servant of our Lord Jesus Christ. When I heard of your passing, the day was a little darker for me. However over the past few days I have enjoyed reminiscing of the great guy I knew back at Del Oro. May you forever rest in peace my friend, God Bless You! Jim Grimes

It was my honor to know mark . Whenever we talked or texed back and fourth he always had a positive attitude , loved his country and ofcourse God . He loved his family and allways was thinking about what was best for them . Mark is home in heaven now looking down on us and even though it's hard doesn't want us to be sad since he's with God . My heart go's out to his family and I pray for them . When I leave this world and go to heaven I look forward to seeing mark again until then I thank God for letting me know him

Mark always had a smile on his face, no matter what was going on in his life. I couldn't help but smile every time I saw him and his light just drew people to him. I'm very grateful for the influence he was to me and that I had the opportunity to be his home teacher and friend. When I told him about Nutty Putty Cave his face lit up and he wanted to go explore it. We had so much fun doing that and I'm glad I had that opportunity with him, Eric and Laura. He's someone I use as an example of a person that cares for those around him and wanted to make everyone feel welcomed. It's thanks to Mark's love that I was able to get a job at Safe and Sound Systems, which was a big stepping stone in my career to having my own audio/video business. I love you Mark and will always feel blessed to have known you.
